Hey all, got some questions about a 4.6 32V tranny swap.

I know the newer cobras (2003-2004) have a 6 speed transmission, and that their engine (minus the charger) is esentially the same as the older 4.6 cobras. I myself own a 97 cobra, and I am wondering if it is possible to swap my 5 speed tranny, for a transmission from a 2003-2004 cobra.

I was thinking that the transmission should bolt up thesame because they are the same vin-v style engine, but I'm not sure.. so guys, tell me what you take is on this one. -Thanks!

Yes, Itll swap right in, Youll probally need all related parts , tranny clutch, crossmember, shifter, driveshaft.

Im not 100% sure if some of thse items are interchangeable with our other cobras but thats the worse case sinario.

Ive been considering doing it also because my 4.10s leave my rpms real high on the insterstate. Would make it nice and lower for crusing.

yea dude thats exactly why I'm doing it, I'm not liking my rpms with my 3.73's, but theres no way in hell I'd take the 3.73's out haha.

The turboedimports get me after 130-140 mph cause I start to get real damn close to redline.

best kit on the market, comes with a costum drive shaft. What ill be getting in the next couple months or so.

I want to do the 6 speed real bad But Id rather have a supercharger first.

yeah I'm going to need that 6 speed when I drop a turbo in mine this summer. I want that extra gear so I dont have to run so high all the time with the 3.73's
