So we all know the new camaro is coming out soon. We've seen the pictures, seen it in the music videos, hell some of us may have even seen it in person at auto shows..

the big question is.. with the Camaro coming out for chevy, and the challenger coming out for Dodge, both making well over 400hp, how is ford going to compete withtheir moderate (in comparison)5.4L 305bhp?

Will we be seeing a new Cobra model for the 05- body style possibly?
(obviously not the GT500 because only few can afford one)

Is this the downside to Ford being the first company to introduce a new retro bodystyle ponycar?

Give some info/thoughts!

i have heard plaent of both of the cars. i am definatly for the mustang. but from what i've heard about the '09 camaro...i believe it will put the mustang to shame unless ford make some big improvements on the mustang..its still two years away so ford might accually do something\amazing again. well thats just my 2 cents. let me hear yours.

form what ive read. they are making a 2008 bullitt.. and maybe a 2009 mustnag gt500 with about 600hp.. ford says that every year they will reveial a new type of mustang.. thats just what ive heard though.. but IMO, i think that the 2009 camaro looks like crap..

yea i have read up and ford has an idea to create a shelbygt500 cobra kr (king of the road), also the release of the boss and maybe mach 1. that is just what i have read online, but what i hear ford thinks the shelby gt500 cobra kr will blow the new camaro and challenger outta the water. but we will see whatactually happens when the time comes

i heard that ford is redesigning there engines. Now remember this is just hearsay but from what i heard the 5.4 is going to be the base engine. Then they will have two ungrade engines i don't know the exhaust litre but from what i've heard its like a 5.7 or higher and a 6.2

I agree with the Camaro looking like crap, they could have done sucha better job..

look at the challenger, I'm a ford guy by far, but that is a beautiful car.They totally made up for the retro family car f*ckup they dared call the "charger"

Also to add an interesting spin I read that Ford's SVT department is dead(see my other topic "Svt dead - cobra value increase?") so no more cobras =/

I also think the new camaro looks like crap. The challenger is IDENTICAL to the original other than its size (its bigger). I dont think Ford is worried about the new camaro, theyll do what they always did to sink it. Price it thousands less than the camaro. True the camaro will have more HP than the stang, but just like the old ones, for the price difference between the cars I could EASILY make a stang smoke the maro and still have cash left over.

5.7 is a 350 i hear that they are prob coming out with a higher compression 3 valve 4.6 or the 351 but dohc, which will be nasty. but well see
