Help!

I can't get the caliper bolts loose on the rear! I can feel the nut beginning to strip, and even a monkey wrench didnt work. Any tips? I'm thinking of just cutting my losses and making someone else deal with it.

i know what you mean, i had the problem on my front calipers...have you let it soke in some pb blaster or wd-40? I used one of those gator grip sockets (its not good for anything else but holding onto stripping bolts) and luckly got them off. Let it soke and see if it doesnt help, i wouldnt try too much or you will round the bolt off

Too bad this wasnt on here 2 weeks ago. I already stripped one bolt just trying to put it back on. They are a pain in the @$$. So wd-40 so loosen them up a little bit?

Okay I'll try that any other tips. What's a gator socket, is that that thing from the infomerchials

lmao yes...it is the thing from the infomercials[&o]. And its absolutly useless except removing stripping bolts oddly enough

O yeah about the WD-40, will that affect the brakes, or do i just need to spray brake cleaner on it after?

O, can I heard a monkey wrench would be good but I don't have one that will fit in the wheel well, maybe I can borrow one.

RE: Help!

I always use brake cleaner on my brakes after I'm done working on them, so I'm sure it cant hurt to spray a little when your all set.

RE: Help!

if you bought new rotors, its best to wipe it down with brake cleaner to remove the cover coating they ship in...helps with seating the brakes.
