I have heard that the 99 cobra's were under producting the rated power! What were the details of that? And How much less power are they talking about?</P>

i beleive it was 15 hp based on an intake maifold design flaw.

Heres what happened with the 99 cobra...

"In 1999 Ford recalled 5,300 1999 SVT Cobras after admitting that the vehicles engine did not produce its advertised 320hp. The recall came after Cobra owners complained of a shortfall of as much as 50hp. Ford traced the power problem to the engines cast aluminum intake manifold and its exhaust system." The 1999 cobra also had a ball joint assembly recall.

thanks! would there be any evidence on my cars VIN history that would say if it was recalled? Or is the only way to tell if mine is effected is by taking it to the dyno?

I think they were all affected seeing as it was a flaw in the actual design of the intake.</P>
