Default 03 Cobra question about gauge cluster, easy one

When you turn the ignition to on, do your gauges make a full sweep- (peg out and return).

Default RE: 03 Cobra question about gauge cluster, easy one

This is why I ask... A few weeks ago my battery light came on while I was driving. Got home turned off the car, restarted it later, the battery light came on (bulb test) when turned key but was not on while running. Checked again later and the battery light did not come on for the bulb test, all other bulbs did (cel, trac control, air bag, etc). Fast forward to last Thursday. Driving back to work at lunch, radio shuts off and trac control switch inop. Got to parking lot at work, vehicle starts bucking, shut off, would not restart. ----- Now here is the interesting part. I put a jump box on it to move it and the gauges did the sweep thing and the battery light started working again. The gauges have never done that before. Ordered and replaced alternator and battery. Battery light has gone back to working (bulb test with key on). I noticed the gauges only did the sweep thing after main power was hooked up each time, whether it be the jump box or after installing the new battery. It does not sweep anymore. Everything works like I think it is suppose to and vehicle runs fine and strong.....

Mine always does that when I disconnect and then reconnect the battery.

So only when you disconnect power and reconnect, not everytime you crank it.

Thanks, that clears it up

On a normal start sequence; it does a bulb check but not a full gauge sweep.
