Default 03/04 cobra rear ends?

Im a newbi and i plan on buy a 03/04 cobra very soon. Sorry i dont know much about stangs. What kind of rear end do they have?? How much hp can they take? Im looking at this cobra and he says it has 570rwhp. I just emailed him 2night so i havent talk to him yet, but would he have to have a biger rear on there or no.

8.8" IRS

With 570hp, the half-shafts will fail if launched at the track with slicks. If he has 570hp, that's some extensive modding there.

steeda sells all kinds of bushing kits to stiffen up IRS, which reduces wheel hop. i've heard of them taking 570hp, you just gotta get out of the gas if the rear starts hopping. im going to get the bushing kit for mine, i will tell you how it works.

Hey, what exactly does a "10 inch" or "9 inch" mean? What is it the size of? I understand exactly what a "half-shaft" is and most of how an IRS works.

The inches refer to the diameter of the Ring Gear of the setup in question, ie: 7.5" 8.8" 9" 9.75" 10.25" etc...
As for the GM types (10-bolt, 12-bolt, etc) I THINK that refers to how many bolts are in the ring gears, but son't quote me on that. Maybe one of the BowTieGuys can confirm that. As for the Dana-60, I have no idea what that means, unless it's the # of teeth on the ring gear or something. I'm sure a google.com search will turn it up or maybe on howstuffworks.com.

Driveshaft shop makes level 5 axles for the IRS that handle 900 rwhp. They cost $1499 but with 570 rwhp you will need them, my buddy snapped his stock half shafts (level 2) on his first drag radial launch. Mine have held up but I am still not hooking, gonna go level 5 and get a billetflow dif brace, good luck.
