Will a 315 or 305 tire fit on a 99 cobra? If not what is the biggest tire you could put on?

i know many people running 315's in the back, but i put my 295's on and was worried about the clearance between the tire and rear subframe bolt, so i got the low profile bolts and could squeeze 315's if i wanted to now

I have 295s on the back of my 03 Cobra on 18x10 Saleen wheels. They rub a little on the fender when I hit a big bump mid corner, but im sure a slegdehammer would fix that. Im not sure about a 305 or 315. If you're worried about traction, my 295mm Goodyear GS-D3s dont even chirp in 1st or 2nd gear and I'm making about 450hp. Im sure that same tire/size would be good for at least 550. Even when I dump the clutch at about 3000rpm in first, the clutch slips more than the tires do. Amazing tires!!!

You can fit a 10.5" rim w/ 315'son the back of the 99-04 Cobra, but you have to buy the bolt kit for the IRS. I have 315/35/17 Nitto's mounted on 10.5" FR-500's on the back of mine and I can barely fit a sheet of paper between the IRS bolt and the tire. I wish they made a 305/35/17, but I can only find 305's in an 18" size.[:@]

Where do I get the Bolt Kit for that so I can stuff the 315s under it.... I am lowered 1.4 in Also

On the stock 8 inch rims, that come on the 99 Cobra, do not run fatter than a 275. Even that is pushing it...

You can run the Nitto 315 DR's on a 9" wheel with no problems or just goto a 10.5" wheel!

i'd say 315 biggest after bolt is changed out.

Like I said, if your rims are still stock, they are 8 inches wide... Not 9 inches like the 03/04's... So if you're running your stock rims, you can go no bigger than 275's...
