ok tuesday of this week i traded my 07 gt in for an 04 Cobra. its black with 39,000 miles and has Borla cat-back only,anyways, the shifter in this car is stiff as hell to get in and out of gear sometimes and under hard acceleration it will completely lock out. and yes i have the clutch on the floor. the clutch feels good so i dont know what it would be. also the rear end clunks real bad everytime i put it into gear. my 07 did it too but it was after i did gears and stuff. so any help would be great guys

that clunk you hear is completely normal. Cobra's use mechanical clutches. Thats why you feel that clunk when you put it into gear. All stock cobra's do this.

Thats not the reason he hears the clunk. All Cobras seem to develop it, but it's more to do with the differential casing (the name is lost to me right now)... but, I had the "clunk" and brought it into ford.. they replaced some shims and bearings and it's really gone now...

The lockout issue is due to the clutch quadrant. Pull up on the clutch pedal all the way... that will reset it. Most owners get an aftermarket clutch quadrant because ours is a piece of crap, lol.

Also, get a new shifter, the factory one is a piece of ****. Switch your tranny fluid to GM Synchromesh as well. This made a huge improvement for me.
