What's up guys? So I want to trade in my 00" GT for a 01' Cobra that I saw for sale. Been looking for a Cobra for awhile, but anyways. I found this 01' Cobra in an online listing for my area, it's got 66,000 miles on it and is going for $14,988. Is that a fair price or shoot I shoot for a lower one. I'm planning on going out to see this car either before or after work tomorrow, I just wanted to know if I should be aware of anything or certain things I should look at. The only thing that I've seen that bothers me is the front hood and bumper don't look to be the stock 01 Cobra hood/front bumper. Here are some pictures:

The front bumper cover isn't a cobra bumper whats up with that?

I would say it has had an accident before.

hood is what came on an '01. If it was damaged, they are easy to replace because they also came on the v6's. That is not a cobra bumper. That car has been in a front end collision or fender/bender. Check all the gaps at the panels, look at the frame, everything inside the engine bay and make sure there is no damage beyond just the bumper. See if it has 'COBRA' in the hood liner.

Ask them why it doesnt have the correct bumper and call them on any bull**** answers they give you. Use the fact that you KNOW something happened to that car as negotiation. I'd say their asking price is reasonable on a MINT '01, but not one that has been in an accident. Get them to come down $1k and you'll be doing good.... as long as the car is OK.

If you decide to get it, there is a guy in the classifieds selling an '01 Cobra Hood and Bumper in silver. Might be sold, but worth a try.

yeah thats the bumper for the GT and V6 mustangs not the cobra. cobra's are always easy to spot because of the round fog lights. personally i wouldnt buy it but thats up to you. the price seems very good but who knows but i think something is going on with that car.

i say you don't do it. If your going to drop the money for a cobra i would just get one that i know hasn't been hi, and has the right bumper on it.

agreed....not saying it def. was but its possible it could have nbeen in a minor fender bender and instead of putting the stock ones on the owner just replaced them with those and then got rid of the car. check for any damage under the hood. Listen for any Valve ticks as well.

And you can always negotiate that price. Any price is neg. because dealers have to move cars off the lot.
