xpipe or hpipe and exhaust info

which would you choose?

also ive been doing some searching and listing to videos of different termi exhaust set ups and have yall ever heard of m55's??
whats the difference between catted x pipes and no catted x pipes.. is that like O/R xpipe or something?
Headers are way to much money and ill never take the power of the car to make the best use of them.
what are prochambers?
im really a newbie at exhaust and having so many choices i have no idea which route to go. and one last thing should i run the stock 2.5" (i think) or 3" exhaust
im wanting to run all Stainless steel if possible

H = low end torque deeper exhaust note
X = high end horsepower little higher exhaust note but definantly not a ricer.
O/R= Off Road and has no catalytic converters
Catted = has catalytic converters

I just put a Bassani Catted X-pipe with Magnaflow Cat-Back exhaust and it sounds great even with the cats installed. The Bassani X-pipe has removable catalytic converters, so you can set it up as O/R or Catted anytime you want.

The FRPP M55 exhaust is a 3" system and is thought to be very loud. Not sure what you are looking for in sound quality. Louder is not always better IMO. You can listen to some M55's here: vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&VideoID=2 958777

Good luck in your selection!

A Prochamber is an alternate choice to H or X. I have one on my GT, and if I had put the exhaust on my Cobra, I probably would have put one on there as well. I think a Prochamber and a Mac catback gives you one of the best deep muscle tones.

Then again, I'm getting quite fond of my Cobra's exhaust. :D

I'd pair a H-pipe setup with Flowmasters, X-pipe with Bassani or Magnaflow.

Im runningBassanicatted-X and Bassani cat-back. I like the sound.

no-cat mid-pipes are the same as off-road mid-pipes. They are not legal and you will have to 'know' somebody to get through inspection/emissions.You can also get ticketed if you get pulled over and the cops happen to check. Not worth the hassle IMHO.

You must be the Mustang that drives past my office every day and revs when he sees my Cobra in the parking lot. [8D]

It's literally just that, a chamber. With an X pipe the pipes join to look like an X, an H pipe has a seperate single pipe joining the two, and the Prochamber actually has a chamber in the middle.

Here is a picture of a Prochamber (left) next to an H pipe (right)
http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2.../mac/pipes.jpg

They sort of split the differences with positives of both X and H pipes, but really, as I said before, the differences are literally just a few HP, so just go with what sounds best. The Prochamber has a deep, albeit a little more muffled sound, I like it.
