I recently got a letter in the mail from Ford that said 'Ford would like to remind you that your 2004 Mustang Cobra has not had the following no-charge recall completed'...

As I just purchased this car used in July 07, it got me to wondering... How many of you Terminator owners have not had this recall done? I guess I will get it installed soon sinceit's free.

I hadn't had it done when I had mine... Never had any issues... but you might want to be on the safe side.

I've been meaning to ask, how does this recall work? Is there a timeline on it? I still keep forgetting to look to see if mine is done yet, but if it's not, can I still bring it in and get them to fix it? Or is it even worth having them fix? Should I just do it myself?

mine is done, some people just cut away the carpet below the accelerator. they just put a plate in so that the gas pedal hits the plastic at wot instead of the carpeting.

I had some pretty scarey situations because of this before the recall. I redlined once and almost creamed a car in front of me on I-10 another time. I'd get it done.

Wow thats pretty scary. I'm guessing the pedal is getting stuck on the carpet?

Yes the pin on the bottom of the pedal will get stuck under the floor carpeting.

I cut my carpet years ago after it stuck at the track prior to Ford issuing the recall.
