Jesus. If there are any Cobra owners with the stock gears and are thinking about changing them ... if you're having any kind of doubts about mileage or driveability ... allow me to give you my opinion, having these gears on my car for about a week now:GET THEM. GET THEM. GET THEM.

They're badass.Given my current mods ... you guys think UD pulleys and a dyno tune would be a good bet for my next bolt on? And are LT's any good on these cars? I heard somewhere you don't see much of a gain from the Cobras from LT's.

LT are great for gains. UD pulleys im not really sure because i just went supercharged instead of pullies so i dont have to take off the pullie. I would say the next step is f/i.

I should have FRPP 3.73 by wednesday night. Obviously not 4.10's but I'm expecting great things. The shop i went too recommended against 4.10's with F/I. Said car could be "jerky" while driving as boost goes through easier? I was debating to get 4.10's. Cool! Congrats Now go burn some rice!!!

Supercharged is the way to go. No regrets with my car and only running 5 pounds and about 400 rwhp. Might get smaller pully this summer????

I second the motion for 3:73's with FI. 4:10's are not needed. I have 3:73's N/A and just put them in like 500 miles before my swap. I'm disapointed and now I have to get 4:10's. I wish I went with 3:90's and I would be right in between! Anyways, FI cars have the grunt so they don't need gears, and you will be shifting waaaayyy too fast. I drove my boy's 04 with 4:30's. What a complete waste. He dynoed at 546rwhp so there's no need for that drastic gear set-up.

A T-45 transmission will run 2900rpms at 80mph granted you have 26.6" diameter tires *(stock)

dont fear the gear. cobra's love to rev and have a very big rpm band. over on svtperformance.com i see people running anywhere from 4.10's with f/i-4.30's. i have seen one so far with 4.56's f/i. <<<< how the traction went on that i have no idea.

i plan on doing a 125 shot with 4.30's

RE: Just installed 4.10's

you have4.10's. That's the exact RPM I'm at when I'm doing 80 - 3,000 RPM.The shop that put my gears on, the owner actually has a turbo 96 cobra with 4.10's and he loves them. And BlackDeath, these things are entirely too much fun to utilize against a Honda Civic with a Walmart wing on the back. The look on their faces is priceless. Ironically enough though, the only thing that I haven't beaten that I've raced since installing these gears was my best friend's 240sx with an sr20 swap. It's really kind of interesting how even our cars are actually. I'll get him from a dig by an easy 1-2 cars all the way up until 4th gear, then about a second after I shift into 4th, he'll pass me up and get about a car on me. Then once 125 hits, his fuel cut will kick in and I'll pass him up again. From a 40 roll in 2nd gear, he'll get me by a car by the time we've hit fourth. From a 20 roll in 2nd gear, I'll get him again until 4th, and from a 20 roll in 1st, we'll almost kill each other from all the spinning we both do. But yeah, I love these gears.
