Default 4.6L DOHC RPM question

What would it take to increase the red line on my engine?

How far could I go without spending huge sums of cash?

What would changes like this do to the life of my engine?

You need to forge it and change valve springs as well as re-balance the crankshaft withweight taken off of it. If you want to rev higher you need lots of $ Read sean hylands motorsport book about 4.6 / 5.4 motors. There are cobra's revving to 10,000 rpms

A nice set of cams would really be able to help! RegardlessI think you're gonna have to spend a good bit of cash!

I'm no expert and won't even try to post using 'my' knowledge of cars.. However, my brother just had his 98 Cobra forged and his builder had him get better springs for the extra RPMS..

This was as much for curiosities sake as anything else. As far as the books go; they do look interesting.

I did mention the valve springs lol re read my post "You need to forge it and change valve springs as well as re-balance the crankshaft withweight taken off of it." Also the books are NOT OUTDATED a revised edition mentioning the 3v engines and fordgt heads just came out.
