Need to spend some $$ on my 97 Cobra...Suggestions?
Hello guys,
I bought a 97 Cobra for my wife about a month ago. The car is pretty much stock with the exception of the new 18" wheels the previous owner put on it.
It didn't take long for me to get the itch to modify the car a little. Any suggestions on where I would get the best bang for my buck? I'm looking at spending $1500-2000. Any help/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Some of my buddies suggested the shorty's, cat back's, CAI, and air flow sensor to start. Not to mention it has the stock 3.27 rear end. I want to go at least 3.73...

slp exhausthas a nice power pac (loudmouth 1s are louder, loudmouth 2s are a bit calmer). then some gears. you can search youtube for exhaust sounds. you can also search throughout the old threads for pros and cons of different gear ratios and exhaust. good luck on mods

First things first, get rid of that intake silencer until you know if you want intake or not. Also check this article on what you should do http://www.svtperformance.com/forums...d.php?t=360437just installed MGW shifter in my car last night and OMG it was a night and day difference. That combined with my bassani cat back is just so much more fun to drive on my 98 cobra. Your gonna get recommendations for getting gears. They help your acceleration significantly and get in your powerband quicker. 4.10s (at least) or bust, thats if your planning on staying n/a.

dont get shorties they don't really add much power... If your going to spend the money or the time installing them you might as well get long Tubes and get some power out of them...

Ive got BBK Long Tube Ceramic headers for my 97 cobra along with the bbk short x pipe and flowmaster system, I love the sound. the xpipe and headers are pretty low but they are awesome !
