RE: $999.00 to spend on 03 cobra
I've said this multiple times before, and I'll continue to do so. I've used both the MGW and the Tri-Ax. Here is how I best describe it: They are both incredible shifters and I would be disappointed in neither. I had the Tri-Ax first and it is VERY solid, the centering springs are strong, and it's a bit notchy. I got the MGW next, and it's very solid as well, however it feels smoother. It still has strong centering springs, and you still won't miss that 2-3 shift that they like to hype up on these shifters (I never missed it before so I dunno), but it has a better feel. In my opinion, on a street car, the MGW is the way to go, it is very short and solid, yet smooth enough to be comfortable as a daily driver. In a track car, I'd use a Tri-Ax. It feels a little more solid and race like. When the difference in a shift could mean your engine, you want the absolute most solid response, and that's the Tri-Ax, even if it is a little notchier.
That said, I have an MGW in both of my cars.
Also, call me crazy, but with $1000, am I the only one who thinks port the S/C? Unless you think you're going to replace it sometime soon, I'd say think about porting it now. Mainly because it's the winter and you're going to have the car down for a little while to get it done, so do it when it won't be missed as much. Then intake and exhaust do so much more and can be done any weekend. By the time you get it done you're 500+ RWHP. Depends on if you have plans to stick with the Eaton though. If you don't think you will then definitely get the exhaust and intake now.
