New Cobra owner with some performance questions...
Hi everyone. New to the forum and I had some questions....
In June 07’ I got a 2003 Cobra Convertible with 6,000 miles on it, from what I can see it has a:
· BBK cold air intake
· Magnaflow exhaust (cat-back)
I wanted to know what other upgrades you guys can suggest for me to do. I was thinking of the following: · Upper and/or Lower Pulleys
· Computer Tuner
· Hard Launch Cross-bar for (IRS)
· Billet IRS cover girdle kit.
Can you please point me in the right direction for what manufactures of the above list to purchase and where I might be able to find them, and even if what I have in mind is a good idea? And if you could also give me any other suggestions you think are good I would appreciate it. I am also looking for a shop in the North / Central New Jersey Area that I could go to, to do some of this work.
-Thanks in advance Nxcess

RE: New Cobra owner with some performance questions...
before we can really help you... are you looking for power, suspension or both?
Because for power... Pulley, tune, cooling mods... right off the bat.. that would net you mid to high 400rwhp depending on tune/location.

RE: New Cobra owner with some performance questions...
Get a upr offroad x-pipe to go with the magnaflow catback. As far as pulleys, go with a 2.76 or 2.80 if you just do the upper pulley but if you want the nice torque gains that come with a lower then go with a 2.93/4lb lower. Obviously with the pulley switch you will need a tune. As far as suspension the first two things I would do are an irs brace and subframe connectors. The cooling mods would be a good idea to do also.

No need for gears really.. you have an amazing torque curve... without a lot of suspension and really good tires you wont be able to hook up at all...

OK...thanks guys! Great info.
I was also thinking about a BBK throtle body, is this a good idea?
If I am going to just do the upper pulley do I need to do a colling mod? Or do I only need the cooling mod if I do both the upper and lower pulley....?? If i only do the upper do I need a tune also???
Also still trying to find a tuner in north NJ...anyone...

If you want a throttle body just go ahead and get the single blade accufab. You will need a tune if you change the pulley. You don't have to get a cooling mod but it is nice to have one for the extra reassurance.

RE: New Cobra owner with some performance questions...
Like I said on the other post- you could also do the billetflow, or port yours if/when you port your blower...
Anytime you modify the boost, or Air/Fuel you need a tune... things can detonate rather quickly... my advice... get all the mods together, get them installed/install them all at once, then get your tune... save you some $$
