Default Hard to shift above 5000RPMS

01 Cobra very hard to shift when rpms are above 5000. The car shift ok the rest of the time just as soon as you get it above 5K it is like hitting a brick wall. If I shift really hard I can get it but I damn near break my wrist trying to hit third.

The clutch is a centerforce stage III also has an adjustable clutch cable and steeda shifter. Is this a tranny problem? Like shift fork or syncros(sp?). Or do I just need to readjust the clutch. If so how do you do that? I have never worked on a manual before. So exactly how would I go about adjusting the clutch with an adjustable clutch kit. Also the clutch grabs and shifts no problem under 5000 rpms a little stiffer than stock but not much.

Thanks

Jason

I guess I am the only one with this problem. I am just going to take to the shop tomorrow morning and see what they say.

Thanks

Well I am taking it to a shop today. I am going to have someone drive it and see what they say. Going to readjust the clutch and change tranny fluid to see if it makes a difference.

Thanks

Jason

Yes that seems to be the problem. I already have that stuff but the shop is swamped right now. Cant get in until next tuesday but at least that will fix it. The guy said that my car had the hardest clutch he ever felt. It was much to stiff so he is going to look at it for me.
