Wheel question for 99' Cobra
Hey guys, im new here, names Ben.
I am purchasing a 99' Cobra from a friend of mine's father in the next few weeks and was wondering what wheel offset would be flush with the body front and back and what's the widest wheel that can be run in the front and back?
Thanks in advance

315's is as wide as you are going to get on the back. 265's or 275's up front is as wide as you would want to go, even then you may have a tendancy to "track" a going down the road. Offset is going to depend on what size rim you get, 18x9 up front and 18x10 in back is popular.

The IRS bolt is more of a problem with 17" wheels. With an 18" wheel the bolt is actually inside the diameter of the rim unless the suspension is fully un-loaded. I have 295's on 18x10's out back with no issues at all. You don't want to go bigger than 275's on the stock 17x8's, even that is stretching it depending on manufacturer.

with 18" wheels you should be find, with 17" wheels you should get the low profile bolts or grind down a bit off the originals (i wouldnt.) do a search, i forgot who did a write up on it with pics a few weeks ago on installing the low profile bolts and grinding down the original.

Yes, 18" wheels will give you 0 problems with the bolt. now most people i know on here go with 17x10.5 in the rear. so out of all the research i have done, people grind the stock irs subframe bolt. i have heard taht it will be nearly impossible to take the bolt off after it's been grinded. i switch mine out a week ago, with some maximum motorsports ones from AM.com another way to do it is to put spacers, i didn't research much on that, cus for me it was either grind, or switch. Now these low profile bolts, if they make contact with the tire, it wont cut/slash it cus of its rounded head. i have a picture here
