Thank you for the correction Ruckus... I knew there were several packages, not sure which were which -- only knew for sure about the 3.42; but wasn't there another option for a rear gear on the M6's? I could swear I know people with a M6 fbody LS1 that doesn't have a 3.42...

gotta love the cobra owners reaction

That car won't last long rev that high and dumping the clutch. But still impressive. Slicks/DR's are Not stock as previoulsy stated by others.

Sorry to be late to this, but the only exception to this rule concerning WS6/SS/Firehawk motor differences in regards to the stock Fbody block is the 1991-92 Firehawk.

Those blocks, which started out as L98s, were drastically different than the stock L98 blocks used in that year.

I have never seen an actual 3rd gen Firehawk, but those things were beasts, plain and simple.

To answer the original question for the hundredth time gears should have you close assuming equal driver skill. There is an issue of MM&FF with an older lady running her 99 or 01 cobra and she was pulling very low 13s and a high 12 with just 4.10s before her clutch let go.

FYI all LS1's are not the same the ones in corvettes have a different cam better flowing intake and better flowing exhaust. corvettes have some sort of true dual system while stock camaro's have a flat section of pipe.(robbing power) corvettes have a much better weight/power ratio .basically the LS1 that is in a corvette is not the same as the one in a camaro or the one in the gto
