N/A 01 Snake SVT

Hi,

I will be doing Cams soon on my 01 N/A Cobra 4.6 4V and was wondering what the best Cams are for 2001 Cobra (I don't mind doing springs etc.). I want a pretty large power gain and a nice lope on idle.

I have a bunch of bolt ons such as:

BBK CAI
BBK 65mm Throttle Body
Granatelli MAF
Diablosport Predator 94 Octane Tune
BBK Long Tube Headers
BBK O/R H Pipe
Flowmaser American Thunder Catback
March Underdrive Performance Pulleys
B & M Short Throw Shifter
4.10 Gears

I will also be doing heads eventually down the road and also wondering if anyone has any advice as to what type to go with?

Well i'll start out with the last part of your post, the 01 Cobra heads are actually probably a good head to stay with, maybe just a stage 1 port.

the mod motors love good duration and these have nice valve lift, any valve lift over 450 is unecessary. Those cams i posted do required aftermarket valve springs due to the agressive lobe as it says in the description.

for heads port and polish your set or get a set of 03-04 heads (larger exhaust port and more threads for the spark plug) and get those ported and polished. or if you have a good amont of $$ to spend get a set of FR500 heads. one of the best out there for our engines. a set of custom grind cams would be the best option IMO. just call up the company you plan on going with and tell them your plans and what is done so far and what heads you plan on running with them and they should be able to help you out with a nice set of cams.

Thanks for the reply's. I am going to explore getting the cylinder heads ported first but if that does not work out I will go with the FR500 Heads from Ford Racing.
