Default sKool me on Cobras

i'm in the market and am looking for a cobra. I would love to get a 03-04 but i doubt that'll happen since my limit is pretty much $10k. I found a bone stock 99' with 80k for $9k. I thought that was a decent deal but once i read another thread on here it looks like a horrible deal since some guy got a 99' with 80k for $5k. Is it possible for me to find a 03-04 in my price range? Anything under 100k works for me. What do you guys recommend?

try to find an 01, the 99s had problems with their intake manifold though many have been fixed imo, make sure the 99 has been fixed or go 01, or you can go 96-98 if u find a clean one. The 99/01s had IRS the 96-98s are SRA. 99/01 had the first Tumble port heads as opposed to the Swirl heads on the 96/98s, the intake manifolds are a bit different. just look around. The power differences are minimal at about a 15whp gain in the 99/01s.

thanks for the help and info so far. So what's the deal with 2000 and 2002's? Did they not make a cobra during those years?

there you go... just get a cobra r.... 10k will getcha the steering wheel!

check ebay, theres a bunch around your price range... i doubt your going to get a terminator but you'll find some good deals.

unless you can find a repaired but salvage title termi... if that doesnt bother you.

naww, i want a clean car. I'd love to get a termi, i saw one on ebay for $14k which isen't bad. I'd like to purchase one with around 50k miles or so. Right now i'm thinking a 2001 cobra.
I have some more nub questions:
1.) What's different about 01' and 03-04's besides the 6 speed and weight? Is the 5 speed limited?
2.) Is there that much of a difference b/w cobras and gt's, or is it just factory engine mods?
