Get the mgw shifter. You can rotate the shifter handle so it facing towards you more, it make a ton of difference. Also something else I did was change from the stock **** to the mgw **** and that also made a world of difference. Between them 2 things its like night & day. I can shift alot faster then I usta be able to when it was stock. I tried the steeda and hated it. Its not smooth at all, its to notchy.

Yeah I need to get it tuned before I do anything. It won't solve my shifting problems but I need to get better than 15 mpg. On the subject of tuning, does anyone know of a dyno tuner in Tennessee?

Yeah, get the car tuned. It will shift so much easier when it's tuned, lol, jk!!!

I used to run a steeda triax when I was on a tr3650, and it shifted fine. I did have a bbk adjustable clutch cable though, with the stock quadrant. I think that you're having some kind of clutch issue, that is not allowing you to shift fast. You shouldn't need to have to hammer that thing into gear. Even at over 600 lbs-ft tq, my stock t56 shifts like butter at 6500 rpms, so something is wrong...

Yeah I have a UPR clutch cable and quadrant that will be here tomorrow. I'm hoping that solves the problem.

Hey LA2003

I have the same problem but only going from 2nd to 3rd fast. I also have a tri-ax shifter and was told to check the positive stop bolts and make sure that they are not interfering with the shifter handle by sticking out to far.

Sounds like a likely solution, welcome to the forums Paul.

Yeah Paul that can definately cause that. I have already checked mine and they are adjusted properly. Its simple to check them. Shouldn't take any longer than 15 minutes. Good luck. Hope that solves YOUR problem. Haha I however have another problem that I hope this cluch cable will fix.

Also sounds like you might need a new TPS. It's cheap to replace and it could cure your RPM hang.
