Why not just get MIL's or a handheld tuner and turn them off? Do they actually look under your car in PA? I know here in Chicago they just plug in.

I don't know where you are going for inspection but I've never had a visual inspection for the cats. I've talked to at least a dozen shops about this very subject and they all say they don't bother looking unless there is a code. The vast majority of shops (at least in the Philly area) just plug in and scan.

I just got caught for having no cats in Nazifornia, and now have to go to a state ref, the stock exhaust is so hard to find.

Wow, that sucks for you guys. When I get my car inspected, the guy tells me to turn the car off, checks the horn, lights, one brake pad, and signals. lol Even with my NO cat exhaust I pass with flying colors. Hell i've even passed with bad wipers telling the guy I was going to get them ASAP. :^D
