Im looking to get another mustang , ive been looking at gts but i came across a 2001 svt cobra with 45k on it for like 12thousand . i plan on doing all bolt ons plus boosting it eventually. Which would you guys go for , which has better potential ?

I was just in your shoes! I was looking at 99-04 GT's, came across my 01 Cobra w/ 56k miles for $10,995 and snatched it up. I have no regrets. The GTs I was looking at were not as nice as this Cobra, and were in the $8k to $10k range.

The Cobra makes 320 horsepower, the GT makes 260 horsepower. I rationalized that I would spend a lot of money down the road trying to make more horsepower from a GT, or I could buy a Cobra and already make 60 more horsepower .

If you plan on adding boost mm&ff did an article with a hellion turbo kit on a '04 with '01 cobra intake. It made 847 to the tires and they have a bolt on kit for the '99-01 cobra. The article title A party on wheels-turbine wheels, that is.
I came across it while looking up info and parts for my build. If I wasn't going na I would go with it.

cobra cobra cobra! i would buy one simply for the front bumper lol. are the '01 cobra's forged like the 03/04's?

i would trade in my 03 gt for an 01 cobra, or even a 03/04 mach 1...

i used to have a 04 screamin yellow mach , how does the cobra stack up to one of those becasue i loved that car

As far as I know the 96+ Cobras were only fitted with a forged crank, the 03/04 Cobras are equipped with forged internals, and maybe the 2000R but don't quote me on that one.
