im talking about engineering and design. not the manufacturing process. sorry if i was unclear and lead you to assumptions.

i like how people are so quick to jump the gun on 03 owners. this site has done it soo many times. relax....

OK I'm sorry for taking you wrong
But your comment is still wrong or I'm misunderstanding you. Why do you think the 03/04 got some type of different engineering from SVT?

Thanks lol,

945 call John Collettii and tell him that he'll probably come take your keys lol.

I still don't understand, every Cobra had performance upgrades from the GTs, even the 5.0s had (intake i think) and suspension mods. the 96s+ are 4vs which is a better platform to start from than a 2v... ESP compared to a 96 GT the 96 Cobra is HANDS down better in every way.

here it is...

Chap. 2, pg. 12, paragraph 2.

"Though marketed by SVT, the 1996 through 2001 Cobras had actually been engineered by Team Mustang, the group that develops the mainstream Mustang products. But the planned 2002 Cobra was coming home to SVT, with every aspect of vehicle development under Coletti's domain."

2002 cobra = the 2003

fvck you all for jumping to conclusions.

and you can join the rest of the guys who think they drive a Jesusmobile. Yeah its nice, but its not the greatest car in the world. If you're so confident in your Godmobile i'd be happy to race you first day of spring for an amount of money i'll let you determine. C'mon man its just a lowly '96.

So what that book is you are saying is that SVT had nothing to do with the Cobra until 2002. Lets analyze this SVT started in Feb of 1992 and it took them 10 years to come up with a product? And we wonder why there is no more SVT.
I think you are reading a little to much into that quote from the book. I guarantee SVT had everything to do with every version of the Cobra right up until it was disbanded

what are you talking about?

i initially made a comment about how ford had given all the reigns to SVT for the first time on the 03. i had no intentions for that statement to be interpreted into the "03 is a jesusmobile." another member was confused by what i said so i found the quote in the book. out of nowhere you jump in here accusing me of claiming that the 03 was the best cobra ever. when did i once say that? i sure as hell never implied it, nor did i mean to. i have nothing against any other cobra out there. i am aware that they outperform the GTs and are all around good cars. you just need to chill out. comments like these are the reason i took a break from this site.

maybe your right, maybe im right. i don't really know. i'll look around for other links.

EDIT: after reading further along after the quote, im thinking that he is just talking about the fact that it was 100% SVT. SVT did a lot of work on the other cars as well, just not the full 100%, and the fact that they had more restrictions.
