Why not go with a 95 with the 5.0?

96/97 also have a return style fuel system, 99 + have a return less.

i would get a 97, all my friends have 97s, i have a 97, it is the best, simply because it is a year after the first production, so the bugs are worked out, i see 96s as nice cars, but head aches because of the first year, and the IMRC plates stick in all of them , just seafoam it, it iwll go away for a while, and i just like 97 is cool to say, i have a 97 cobra...instea i have a 98 i have a 96 blah..i feel it is easier to roll off the tongue, sometimes i o feel the 98 cobra is superior to the 97, simply becuase it is the last year of te style and they did change somethings, but if i were you look for a nice 97-98, and make sure she goes right to 7 grand with no issues, and doesnt grind in 2nd gear with a hi rpm shift, get a short throw on it immediately...hope that helps

You need to shop around. I would suggest checking craigslist and ebay for a good deal. I picked up my 99 cobra with 52k miles and garage kept for $9500. It's in perfect condition! It took me about 3-4 weeks of shopping to find it. I will update my profile with some pics soon.

So what headaches do the 96's have that the 97/98 don't have? There Mustangs everything about them is a Headache but that is why we love them
And since you like your car because the way it rolls off your tongue I have a car for you Renault Le Car.

There is an alternation to the fuel system. The 1998 Cobra used the 1999 style bucket, yet remained return style as they were a transition year. I guess thats why you need a different fuel pump for 98 cobras than you do 96-97s.
