If you're doing A LOT of drag racing, I'd goto a SRA...If not, keep the IRS!

Keep your IRS stock. I would not chop up a limited edition cobra for a live axle replacement. There were plenty of years 94-98 that have the live axle and can be picked up for a good price.

chop up?/?? lmao do you even know what you are talking about? The IRS to solid swap is a direct bolt in. Hell the holes you need were even predrilled for you at the factory and are already to go for it. It is also easy to take the solid out and reinstall the IRS if you ever want to switch back. Personally i have a solid 9" rear in my car with no regrets about going solid.

My 99 has a solid rear end, but then again, that's all I know, I've never driven an IRS Mustang, so I have no input about the IRS, but I love that good ole solid rear, not to mention the weight savings it offers.

I know its hard to believe... but like Blownsvt eluded to, its a mustang w/ cobra parts. Easy and reversible.

It's an analogy for the action not literally a "chop up". I had no idea you could switch them out like that. I do know that the live axle is better for racing, and the irs is good on the road or uneven surfaces. If you can interchange them and you've got the motivation, by all means swap them babies out!
