Default Weird smell, like burning wires, maybe clutch - 99 Cobra, HELP!

I have a 1999 cobra with 50k miles on it. i bought it a couple years ago with 24k miles, it had a weird smell come off it when it ran. shortly after i bought it the engine blew a push rod. i replaced the engine with an exact same engine from svt. the smell was still there for a week or so then left. NOW around the same miles on the engine as before, when it blew, the smell is BACK, WTF! its very noticable when driving around, when you smell around the car the source is most definatley coming from the passenger side front fenderwell. my mechanic told me a few weeks ago the clutch was giving out and needed to be replaced soon, but there was no smell then and he told me that when i first bought the car as well. the clutch is very notchy and isnt shifting through the gears as smoothly as it should.

has anyone else experienced this smell? i know i need to replace the clutch real soon, but im worried about another blown engine.

Sounds like the brakes are sticking on the passenger side to me. You may have a stuck slide pin on the caliper which is causing them to slightly engage.

your engine doesn't have push rods.

Make sure you're not driving with the ebrake on, and that your foot is never resting on the clutch while in gear.

A burning clutch has a very distinct, strong smell. If you say it went away and then came back, that kinda rules out anything that stayed on the car when you replaced the engine.

Make sure a rogue wire or anything is not touching your exhaust.

That or a dragging brake.
