Got the trans, WHOLE engine, wiring harness, cumputer, cluster, column, pedals, coolant system for $6.5k
Sold the trans for $1k
Am going with a TH400, for drag racing duty
It hasnt been to bad so far. Pretty much just taking the old stuff out and putting the new stuff in

Well if you like the 5.0 and the sn-95 body style, you can get a 5.0 in 94/95. Now, here's the problem with the 5.0. They're great motors, easy to work on, reliable as hell, and cheap to mod, but with one major draw back, the car their in is going to be old, and other parts will be prone to failure due to age, and the T-5 and or AOD/AODE transmissions used in them can't take power worth a fud.
Also, if you're looking for a Cobra to mod, I wouldn't mod a 93-95 5.0 Cobra, those cars are collectibles, so modding them will just hurt their value. Now you can do a simple supercharger and call it a day, but I wouldn't do anymore with a real 5.0 Cobra.
Also, if you get a Cobra, of any type, go twin screw, way better than centrifugal S/Cs, all around more power.
Anyways, the call is up to you, both the 5.0L and 4.6L Cobra platforms have advantages and drawbacks.
Now, coming from somebody that owns both engine platforms, I love my 5.0 over the 4.6, just more toqueier and feels better. Now granted, I'm compairing a highly moded 5.0 to a near stock N/A Cobra, but I still prefer the 5.0 for modding. Now for a daily driver, Cobra all the way, just much more reliable than any 5.0 as long as you keep them stock/near stock. The more you mod a car, the more likely you're going to get bit in the rear on both driveability, and reliability.

yea thats no doubt in my mind, if and when i make a decision with what car i go with its not going to be a daily driver. More of a weekend warrior. Im still on the fence, i love the Notch body style, id have to say more than the SN95...but only the cobra. Im not a huuge fan of the GT. Granted theyre nearly alike. Im doing some research on 5.0 Turbos, seems to be a great advantage with a healthy tune...but may be a headache with installation.

^^ 93 cobra's r collectible YES, but the 94-95.... not really. The Terminators are more collectible then those, Unless you are talking about the 95 Cobra R.
As far as twin screw on the modular, yes the engines do respond well tothis type of blower, but its more or less what you want in the car!
The centrifugal blower/or a turbo are a LOT better for dragracing thena twin screw. This is becuase you can put the power down easier, and make more power as you climb into the rpm ranges.
Turbos- are pretty much the best power adder. There are no bottles to refill, you always have it, and the boost that is created by the turbos, is free because there is no parasitic loss from belts.

true true. im just afraid of if i do decide to go with a turbo, that im only going to be able to afford a cheaper ebay kit. Which ive heard bad and okay things about...are the turbos junk? i did some research last night and got some info about turbo kit websites like pony down and turbo time. which seem to run $2900 for their cheapest kit.

THose are both GREAT kits, and if you have any kinda fabrication skills you can easily puttogether your own kit, or buy JUST the hot side parts fro mthe company and then put the rest of the kit together yourself.
OR if you have afriend that can weld and such....
My buddy is going to be helping me with a turbo kit later on after the car is complete. They are the way to go
