Default Opinions on 03 Cobra

I've got a friend that is looking into getting a Mustang. Right now, he's seriously looking into Mach's and 03-04 Cobra's.

Found one that is very close, and has some tasteful mods to it.

Tell me what you think please. As to how much hp/tq this particular one might have and anything to look out for.

Thanks guys

Look good. I would deff ditch that bbk intake and go with K&N or JLT. Also with a smaller pulley and them mods I would hope that thing has a dyno tune, which should tell you the hp/tq it lays down. If it does not have a dyno tune tell you friend to stay out of boost unless he wants to blow that motor and spend a ton of money on a new one.

Edit: Also find out where the air/fuel is at on that car. Also if not done, get the head cooling mod and irs brace.

Also IMO them bbk 1 5/8 longtubes are to small for that car let alone bbk is crap quality to begin with.

I'll be making a trip to that area this weekend so hopefully me and my friend can make a trip there or I'll just check it out myself. I'll be sure to check on a dyno tune and as far as the bbk stuff i guess its up to the owner whether to replace or not.

Price is just a tad under what I would expect. Mileage is average. You definitely want to check it out carefully. Ask the right questions, like how much was it raced. Ask for maintenance records. Do a Carfax report. Oasis, too. Test drive it. Maybe even have a shop look at it if the seller will allow that. And if your friend buys it, definitely check the tune before getting into boost. It's probably okay, but don't assume anything. As already mentioned, bad things can happen if the tune off (ie. lean A/F). I wish your friend the best.

1 5/8" LT's are more than enough for a pullied Cobra. Wouldn't want BBK's though. My guess would be around 475 on the hp.
