Put a deposit on a 99 cobra

Well yesterday i put a deposit on a 1999 mustang cobra coupe. Its rio red in color and is in beautiful condition. It has 87k miles on it and they want $10k for it. I should be able to talk them down as it needs tires. It was originally a florida car so underneath looks immaculate.

They didnt have their plates for me to test drive it as i came at the very end of the business day. I was able to start it and the motor sounded very good. I moved it around in the parking lot a bit and the clutch seemed to grab good. One thing i noticed is the clutch is very stiff. Is that normal for cobras? im used to driving a 99 cougar with an svt contour clutch in it and its no where near as hard.

I am going back tomorrow to test drive it and find out what my interest rate would be on the loan. Is there anything else i should look for while driving it? Any common problems? Thanks in advance for your help.

I know my clutch is very stiff in my 03, but it could also be they replaced it with a different clutch than stock? Some are very stiff some are less stiff depending on what kind they may have used. With 87k miles, ide expect them to have changed it out at least once depending on the previous owners driving attitude... and it is a cobra so 87k miles would be a stretch if you ask me on the original clutch.

and im assuming if it was the original clutch the pedal would have softened up a great deal with 87k on it.
