What would you pay for this Cobra

4 Attachment(s)
Hi All. I'm looking at a Cobra, and wanted to get input from the experts. Car is a 2004 Torch Red with 12,xxx miles. From the pictures, the car appears to be immaculate, and has the following mods:

Engine:
-2.93 Upper Pulley only (no lower)
-JLT Carbon Fiber RAI
-Metco Idlers
-AFCO Heat exchanger

Exhaust:
-Off road X pipe
-Borla Stinger Catback

Stance:
-H&R Race Springs (All ISO's still in place)
-AFS Replica Stockers 18x9.5 Front & 18x10.5 Rear
-Michelin Pilot Sports all the way around

Misc:
-Tinted windows 35% all the way around
-MGW Short Throw shifter (Orange Handle)
-SCT X-Cal 2 Paired with the car
-Billet Flow RED IRS Brace
-Rolled Rear fenders to fit big wheels

What would you pay for this Cobra? Seller is firm on his asking price of $23,500. Is this a fair price for the car?

Also, I currently have a 2005 Mustang GT (stock). What are your thoughts of going from a 05 GT to an 04 Cobra?

Thanks in advance.

mfj 10-10-2010 11:00 PM

Sounds fair to me. Tasteful small mods and very low mileage...

Timspony 10-11-2010 06:00 AM

...Does sound like a very GOOD price!

for that mount of miles the price is good, as long as everything appearance wise is nice, its hard to find a cobra with that kind of milage now adays.

SaddleUp 10-11-2010 08:20 PM

I'd ask that for mine, and it doesn't have any mods. Not one thing. And it's also older. 2003.

MustangJim21 10-11-2010 11:09 PM

Very Nice. I like your license plates as well. Very cool!!

Get one that says JIMSPONY! lol

Timspony 10-12-2010 06:15 AM

^^^^ That would work ;)

thunderhorse 10-12-2010 09:43 AM

that's a good price. I'd shoot for 22500 also, but if the guy doesnt budge you can't feel bad about 23500 for a termi like that.

MustangJim21 10-12-2010 06:05 PM

Well, I was all lined up at set to go pick up the Cobra this Saturday. I spoke with the seller and due to a personal reason, he is unable to sell at the time. I think he got cold feet and just doesn't want to get rid of it quite yet.

Thanks all for the input. I will continue my search. If you come across any low mileage 03/04 Cobra's feel free to shoot me a PM or whatever.

Thanks.

On second thought....I may need that mod money for myself!! :)

Timspony 10-15-2010 11:56 AM

^^ Guess there won't be a JIMSPONY after all!! ;)

bbcobra 10-22-2010 06:57 AM

prices on these is all over the place. a good source is svtperformance.com. You can pick up a whippled or kennebelled cobra for that. Buyer beware on a modified car though. I'd verify who tuned it and get dyno sheets. Get a idea of how it's been treated (most important).
I have several mods. upper/lower, intake, exhaust, lots of visual upgrades but I've never raced mine down the track. Just drive it and enjoy it. It depends on the car and how honest the seller is.

2001 Cobra Cpe . All stock interior is mint . Exterior is a bit flat no dents scratches or dings.Wax should bring finish out.49,000 miles on the car only 17,000 on the warranty replacement motor.Car has never been garaged. May need brakes e brake doesnt hold.
Cd stuck in cd player. Other than that car is very clean . I know the guy who had it when motor was replaced and he has never beat on it at all.Does this sound like a great deal at $10,000.Any one with knowlede of values I would appreciate your input!

Good Info Cant wait!!!

MustangJim21 11-02-2010 09:43 PM

I finally picked up a Terminator this weekend. Purchased an 04 Torch Red with 16,000 miles. Car is as clean as Termi's come now a days. Both interior and exterior look as if the car just rolled off the show room floor. Pictures were taken with a basic point and shoot camera which do not do this car any justice...enjoy :)

Clean looking Cobra Jim....Congrats!!!! ...Did you get the straight pipes with the Bassani catted X??

MustangJim21 11-03-2010 05:56 PM

Thanks Tim. No, I did not get the straight pipes with the Bassani catted X. Know where i can pick a set up for a good price?

On another note, the resonatts are currently installed in the catback, and i'm surprised how quiet the car is at idle. I will be removing those soon to hear what the car really sounds like!!!

Rokgtar 11-03-2010 06:47 PM

Congrats - the Cobra is gorgeous!

Mustang3GT07 11-03-2010 07:07 PM

Congrats and keep it looking good! Keep it out of the winters if you live in a place where it snows!

Timspony 11-04-2010 06:08 AM

Jim you should call Bassani!!! ...any other plans at this point?

I am currently in TX, however the car is back in my home state of NY, which I will be moving back to in a few short weeks. Needless to say, this car will NEVER see snow...That is what my 05 Mustang GT is for :)

Tim - A call to Bassani is what I was thinking as well. I have no big plans for now. I will however add some mechanical guages or the Aeroforce Interceptor, along with a JLT carbon fiber RAI.

The first thing I need to do is get used to the power!!!!

Timspony 11-05-2010 06:34 AM

Jim....what part of NY????

Scoutn757 11-05-2010 03:00 PM

Looks good. Does it still have the new car smell? My cousin's 11k mile termi does.. Sickening. Enjoy it

If you really want to set it off under the hood peep the link in my signature. I have a lot of that guy's stuff in my Cobra
