ya dude you wont be sorry its the best of the 99 to 01 mustangs so you got rid of most the typical problems....only bad part is that maybe he beat the **** outta this one...have him do a compression and leak down test to make sure he didnt trash this one too....dont settle for less though get what you want so you wont regret it
I WOULD say the 01 is the better of the due because the newer style interior, cobra specific seats, the rear bumper, beefier rear, etc

still want to find out if car is an original with factory installed replacement svt motor installed by ford does this car lose its value?17 k on new motor babied.I think since ford had new motor installed by cobra svt techs it would still be an original car. Guy was asking 12k then 11k now 10 k. Interior is mint ext finish is a bit flat but no dents dings or scratches 49K on the car Does this sound like a great deal?

My guess is that the replacement motor will not diminish the value. I would be worried if there is something on the carfax, example accidents/ title issues. If you have not yet run a carfax I would suggest you do it before you buy it. As far as I know there is nothing on the motor matching it to the car. Look at it this way the chances of you finding a 2001 cobra with 17,000 miles on the original motor are slim, and if you did it would not go for 10k. Even though it is not the original motor it only has 17k. And the body of the car also has low mileage 49k. For 10k buy it, drive it, enjoy it.

If anything, I think a factory replacement motor would increase the car value. Assuming the first motor wasn't pulled because owner drove it into a river?
10k for an 01 Cobra is good...Just make sure there isn't any hidden damage. Consider a mechanic doing a once over on the car if you are not confident in your ability to catch damage.
