Default Need advice on '01 Cobra purchase

New here. I have a chance to buy an '01 coupe for $10,500. White, polished wheels, spoiler, 48,000mi. I go to drive it tomorrow. Wondering, if everything is in order and the car is clean, is this a good price? Know it's hard to tell without seeing, but isi it in the ballpark? Thanks for any help!

Troy

Would be nice to get back behind the wheel of a Mustang! Been a few years.

I'd say that's pretty good, I'm looking for one and can't find one with those kind of miles for that cheap.

I just traded my 01 with 72,000 miles for $8k to a dealership and felt that was a fair price for a dealer. Also, look at www.nada.com if you haven't heard of it yet. Based on that and my own experience buying and selling my 01, I'd say $10k for that one is a good price.

Went and saw the car at lunch. It was filthy, no polished wheels, bald rear tires(new front), new magnaflow cat back. So, a few pros and cons. I guess not everybody considers it a priviledge to own such a cool car and take pride in it's appearance. It felt tight and powerful when I drove it. No weirdness, felt like it was all there, clutch felt pretty good, everything works. Anyway, told her I thought I could go 10K. She is showing it to one other guy and said she'd call me later.

Thanks for all the replies! We'll see......

I had magnaflows on my 01, loved the way they sounded. Car had more grrrr than stock pipes...

Yeah you'd think everyone would take care of these nice cars like we do. But if it's just dirty but otherwise sound, that's cool. Good luck, I hope it works out the way you want it to...

That is about the price I paid for mine, which I bought last february. I would not give the seller what they are asking for unless they plan on installing new tires. You need to take the price of tires into consideration. How long has the seller owned it? Bald tires is a sure sign it has been beat on.

Got it. It was a 3 day messed up deal, but it's done, and it's in my driveway. Much props to my wife or I'd still be dreamin'. Thanks again for all the responses!
