Default 96 GT to 97 cobra motor swap

I was wondering if anybody knows if I need to have the cobra keys in order to make this swap work? I am about to purchase a cobra motor for my GT, and the only thing im lacking is the keys. is the PAT going to give me a hard time? i have a tuner that will let me turn it off, but is my GT key going to be able to let me get into the cobra ECU to do so? or should i just use the GT ecu and get a tune for it? thanks for any help!!

No because you're PAT system isn't removed with the swap and it programmed to your gt keys. PS: If you ever decide to use a GT computer with a B head 4v you will need to delete the IMRCs and get a tune, the GT ECU doesn't have the ability to control the IMRC.

I did the exact swap and all I did was put the 4V in with Cobra harness, Plugged it into the firewall put the Cobra ECM in the car and fired it right up with my old 96 GT key. But than I read on the interweb where people have done the swap and had trouble with the PATS. I'm just telling you what I did and I had no problems
