Default New to the SVT section!

Hey guys I just bought a 99 Cobra yesterday and I'm just saying hey! I'll be around these parts a lot more now.

99 Cobra with 119k miles on it, only 6k over the last 7 years.

Mods:
In fender intake (don't remember what brand)
solid rear axle with 4.10s
MAC prochamber with a Magnaflow catback
KYB shocks in the rear
subframe connectors
pro 5.0 shifter
03 Cobra rear bumper
Termi replica wheels, 17x9 up front and 17x10.5 out back

It has had the fix. Are there any other issues I should look for with this car? Also what are some decent mods? Who do you guys prefer for tunes?

Congrats and Welcome to the SVT Section!

As for mods (All Personal Preference) I would look into some ARH or Kooks Longtubes and matching midpipe. Magnaflow is a good catback, but these cars sound even better with Borla or Bassani. Upper/Lower Control Arms, and maybe some Front/Rear Sway Bars.

Do you ever plan on going FI?

As for tunning, I would go with an SCT and a good dyno tune. Canned tunes are junk!

welcome! nice looking car!! what do you mean by it has had the fix??? looks like you got most all the power mods done without going forced induction...i would get a dyno tune from a reputable guy in your area and that will make a huge diff...

Not too many people do dyno tunes around here... anyone use like Bama or VMP Tuning for their tune? I know Justin@VMP did a great job with my V6 tune. I forgot to add, it does have upper control arms. If I did go FI it would be longgg down the road.

Apparently the 99 model cobra had a problem with the intake/computer that caused a ping? I didn't know much about it but was warned to check for a sticker on the engine.

find a 03 front bumper:P changes the whole look of the car. and since you have the rear already would look great.

I'd try and find some 03/04 cobra side skirts. Does your car have the stock throttle body still?

Yes, it does have the stock TB.

Last car I had I did show first then go. I think I wanna do the opposite to this one, since it looks pretty damn good already

oh alright i didnt know what you meant by THE problem lol...but canned tunes are useless waiste of money!! well you can be first in your area to get a dyno tune and show off the power that it bring rather then the mail in...but im sure guys with supercharged cars have takin there car to a dyno!!

a TB is another mod to do makin it more responsive but not addin to much power speciall without a tune...other ways to free up some power is aluminum driveshaft and an aluminum flywheel which allows your car to rev faster therefore gettin to your powerband quicker!
