I have nittos NT555R 315/35 right now they hook up well but have lots of wheel hop when i dump the clutch at high revs....Any tires that will hook up better that are street friendly?

Thanks for the input

wheel hop is more of your cars problem then the tires!! the irs suspension needs stiffened through bushing braces springs and shocks to minimize wheel hop!! everyone that has had an irs knows the problem and thats why alot of people switch to a solid rear like i did

not saying i dont like irs cause i do but at a certain power level and depending on how well you stick it ends up being cheaper to switch then keep upgrading broken parts

if you really want a stickier tire mickey thompson makes DR is stickier but you have to eat it to make it worth its while basically a strip tire...what you have right now is one of the best tires out there...just need to start upgrading your suspension man

It does have a lot to do with tires. 35 series sidewalls are stiff as hell for cornering support. That is a recipe for wheel hop. Drag racing requires a softer sidewall, like Mickey Thompson's tires use. In the extreme, a wrinkle wall slick is designed to cushion the blow to the tread surface on the launch. If you can relate to that, you can begin to choose tires that lean that way. Taller sidewalls will give more by default. Fewer sidewall plys will give more. Compare what you have to a good drag race radial and see how it differs, then go shopping.

His wheel hop has nothing to do with his choice of tires. Sorry.

I agree, but those tires suck also and are not helping the cause.

sorry im gonna disagree redneck nitto isnt a crappy tire its an awesome street tire!! if your at the strip a few times a month and drag race from light to light at every stop then yes mickey is the tire for you...but for someone like me that likes the occasional race and goes to the strip twice a year nitto is a better tire for my use

yes you can help the hop alot but you still need to get an IRS brace and bushings and such before you break something from hoping to hard
