The 6 speed can handle more power, it's quicker, and will yield a faster top end (if the power is there). I'm not sure however wether they go together easily. I know it has been done, but I'm not sure how easily. Sorry if I'm not much help. Have you tried searching and looking through threads on similar topics?

The T56 is a much stronger tranny over the 5-speed.....Other factors might be the driveshaft & perhaps the bell housing....Going to need to do some research!

Any mustang transmission from a 4.6 will bolt up to any 4.6 engine with the exception of a trans verse mounted lincoln engine.

Default another question

ok if he is replacing the drive shaft does he get one for the year of the car like this one http://www.americanmuscle.com/96gtand96coa.html or for the year of motor/trans

what about the exhaust 98 or 03

youll prolly have to measure the driveshaft distance and get a custom one...the placement of things may not be the same therefore a long or shorter drive shaft

exhaust should be 98 since your using the hangers and it has the solid rear...if you got 03 it would be 03 hangers and IRS

Exhaust systems run 98-04 for solid axle cars, 98s have the same hanger location as 99-04.
96-97 have different hanger locations as well as 99-01 and 03-04 cobras which have the IRS.
