'97 Mach 460 stereo questions
My '97 Cobra is low miles and the interior looks great except for a couple items.
The Mack 460 AM/FM Cassette player works great, except that the previous owner must have been a constant button pusher. Several of the buttons are worn away. It looks bad with the white plastic showing through the black-faced buttons.
Is the faceplate on these stereos replaceable?
Do I have to replace the whole stereo?
When I look for parts/stereos to buy, what other years are compatible?

I tried a long time ago to get a CD player for my mach 360 system, and they had them but they were way too freaking expensive new. I wanted mine replaced because the CD player quit taking CD's. Once you got it in there it owuld work but god forbid you ever wanted to switch it. I bought a new deck and kept my old ones for the original look if I ever wanted to go back to it.
Of course nowadays I very rarely use the CD player and listen to Sirius radio almost all the time.

my cobra had the same issues.(worn buttons plus a broken one) ford said N.L.A... I found a 95 lincoln with the same buttons. i removed the face plates replaced the buttons it was a fairly easy job(I wanted to keep the ford logo on the casette deck or it would have been easier) the best part was they only charged me 15.00 for the deck plus I have a spare if needed(just swap the face plate)
