Default 1998 Mustang Cobra Charging problems

I have a stock 1998 Mustang Cobra with 92,000 miles. Just last week I had a charging problem. When I am idling everything seems fine, But if I hit the gas or start moving on the highway the battery light comes on and the gauge drops almost to the red. When it is idling the alt. reads 14.4 and when your on the gas it drops to 10.5 What could be causing this problem????

Hows your serpentine belt? other than a crazy slipping belt due to a bad tensioner alternator would be the next suspect, any autoparts store should be able to do a charging and starting test on it for you free of charge

The belt is just a few months old.. the tensioner is very tight. I had advance auto test the battery and alternator.

So you battery and alternator both test good currently? Just cause there a few months old doesn't mean they can't go bad. If they both check out its a wirring issue.
