How to remove Crossover Tube? Intake Manifold repair in progress
I am reading some of the posts on this site and you people really know how to mod these engines. I would have to believe that many of you have torn down the engine down to the heads, so an Intake Manifold Gasket should be easy! I am long me mustang owner and am trying to just bring this 197 Cobra back to working as stock and fix codes. I consider myself a good DIYer and have repaired previous engines down to the head gaskets. This is my first time working on this engine and cannot find a DIY on how to replace this Intake Manifold Gasket. I ordered the lower and upper Felpro gaskets and have started removal of the easy stuff (Air Intake, Strut Brace, drained radiator) and started my documentation of the current setup with spark plug wires and photos.
Now I need to start digging in and any advice you can give would be great I do not need any more people with GT's providing general statements, yes I know the engines are different....
My main concern is how to get to the cross over and remove. I am also looking for torque specs. I have the1997 shop manual, but I good DIY t guide me makes it a whole lot easier.
This is not my DD, so I am making sure I do this right. I was getting P0171 and P0174 and god awful gas mileage. I found at least one leak in the gasket, it didn't make sense to keep searching, one leak is enough.
