engine shut down

I've got a 96 Cobra and had the unfortunate opportunity to take a picture of it behind a tow truck today.

Here's what happened, maybe you can help me figure out what's wrong.

After driving a couple of miles the car turned off while sitting at idle at a red light. The RPM dipped from about 900 to 600 (normal for mine) a couple of times then dipped again and shut off. When I tried to re-start it, the engine didn't move. The dash lights came on, the windows and radio worked but the engine didn't turn. After about 90 seconds or so, it fired right up. I made it another couple of miles and it did it again. Exact same issue, eventually I was able to get it off the road and wait for the tow man.

Looking at the engine, everything looked clean and connected. It didn't sputter or whine when I turned it over again and the check engine light didn't come on. The light as come on in the past and the code read about a censor. I'm not sure if it was a fuel or o2.

The theft light didn't come on and after 90 seconds the car started right up. What do you think it is?

Not sure what you meant by "engine didn't move", but it sounds like an ignition problem of some sort. Start by reading codes and see if they tell you anything.
