Default Replaced odometer gear in dash...now what?

Odometer quit working a few years ago. Didn't worry about it, because speedometer still worked. SC, built Cobra, stays in garage for the most part. Saw that the gears in the cluster can go bad, and in fact, were rotted all to hell. Replaced as directed, but odometer still does not function. Could the electric motor have gone bad?

Worm gear was not engaging. Put a piece of paper towel under it to raise the back, and problem solved.
