New 2015 pics reconfirm IRS

I can't see it going down to the weight of a foxbody with all of the safety equipment that is required.

IRS was rumored to be on the current model. I'm pretty sure there were pictures as well. I don't think it will happen and I hope it doesn't happen. I have never lost traction on the street in a corner and I push it pretty hard. My suspension isn't stock, but the 8.8 is perfectly capable of competing with an IRS and it won't break at the drag strip.

exactly, just watch the continental tire series in grand-am, the SRA mustangs out run most of the IRS cars including the porsche, camaro and bmw m3.

IRS has been the underpinnings of the Mustang not being a "modern" car on par with Euro/New Edge cars.
The Camaro was sign enough that the IRS does not get you any weight loss, my guess is it is about ride quality for those 'potential' new generation buyers. What will be interesting to see is if Ford has as many issues with the gearing in their IRS that Camaros did. The Camaro IRS did not support power boosters in many cars that were re-geared, so what will be interesting is the power rating they will give it and the compatibility with off the shelf gears/diffs.

^^^^^^^^^^The Terminator IRS didn't do too good under power upgrades either and that system has to be heavier that the traditional solid axle.
Talk about a maze back there...
For the new Stang, I hope it will holds better but it's mostly about drag strip applications.

Wow.. a hacked up rear bumper and still those silly tail lights.
I liked the concepts way better, even if I am in the minority...
Having owned both generation last gen Dodge Chargers, THOSE were a totally different design and a well warranted change.
I hope the same for the new Mustangs.

Not sure about you, but I don't want to shell out that much for a custom PCM(BG) and tune.
Sure, it'll run high 11's, custom tunes, NA and tires but with a $46-55k price tag, I wouldn't have enough left over to spend on mods

I'm partially hoping that Ford makes it so the 8.8 in the 05-14 can be bolted in and vice versa...
However, I haven't felt any situation driving where I thought 'damn, I wish this car had IRS', but my favorite car back in Europe had a torsion beam rear suspension, which is just as 'bad' but lent itself to giving me a bit of oversteer and a rear wheel off the ground in turns.
