who the F would want to shift with their left hand? maybe a lefty, but certainly not the majority of drivers.
it's not that hard. The shift pattern is the same whether it's LHD or RHD, and the pedals are arranged in the same order. The two biggest "gotchas" I ran into is the stalks on the steering column tend to be reversed, and I frequently look to the wrong side for the rear view mirror.
it can be fun, though. RHD vehicles are so rare in some areas it's entertaining to watch people lose their s#!t because I'm on the "wrong" side of the car.
And you don't think the 2015 will be the same way?
NO. RHD cars will be built at Flat Rock Assembly Plant, with the parts needed to conform to EU regulations or Australian Design Rules, with powertrain calibrations certified to those emissions standards. As such, they won't conform to EPA and/or FMVSS and can't be sold or re-imported here.
The only way one could legally buy a RHD Mustang in the US is if Ford certifies RHD Mustangs to conform with EPA and FMVSS requirements. And it's not as simple as saying "well, it meets Euro 5b which is pretty close to US standards so we're all good." Ford has to file certification documents to the government which demonstrate that they've tested to EPA and FMVSS standards. That costs money, and the number of people who would buy a RHD Mustang in this country is so small that it would be an utter waste of time, money, and resources to even bother.

Ok lets try this again. this time using exactly what you just wrote.
How am I able to import a 2002 cobra then if it was built in the USA to confirm to ADR, then shipped out to Australia?

The cars were built as US-spec vehicles, exported to Australia, then converted to comply with ADRs in Australia by an Australian company. Technically, in order to re-import them one would have to undo all of the modifications but if the VIN wasn't changed then as far as the gov't knows they're still US-spec cars.
