Very interesting. Is it backwards compatible with the 2011-2014 Coyotes? Not that I plan to take a S550 Whipple and put it on a pre-2015 Coyote, I'm just curious. One curiosity is if the CMCV equipment necessitates a difference in design for the ability of the supercharger to fit in place of the intake manifold.

Also, the S550 Coyote uses improved sintered conrods; many mag reviewers compare the S550 conrods to being equal to the S197 Boss Roadrunner conrods, so those can take more loadings which will definitely be present from forced induction.

The S550 Coyote pistons are unfortunately still the weak point; hypereutectic pistons just like the 2011-2014 Coyote pistons. The S550 Coyote pistons have been redesigned; their ring lands might be thicker than the outgoing 2011-2014 piston ring lands, so that could help protect them from failure while under boost, but millimeter for millimeter, forged pistons are still stronger (even though thermal properties are different and could be less than perfect for daily driving which Ford places so much emphasis on).
