Default 2015 v6 Automatic shifting

I just got it not long ago, does not have 1000 miles on it yet. When I push the pedal to the metal really fast from a stand still it seems to red line before it shifts gears. Is this because it hasn't been fully broken in yet? I know you shouldn't really push it too hard during the break in so I try not to do that too often but I just wonder if I should be concerned that maybe even after the break in this might still happen.

When I mean redline I mean it will go to to nearly 8k and still not shift.

Sounds like you are doing exactly what the owners manual says not to do during break in, good job.

Yes, I said I'm trying not to do that but I considering what I've noticed I just wonder if anyone else has seen this during break in.

You wouldn't think to ease off on the gas before it goes grenade?
(You'd probably laugh if I told you the max rpm that my GT has seen in the last eleven years...not even 5k)

I don't think that break in will alter a shift point to any great degree.
I don't think that anyone else is pushing a V6 auto that hard, broken in or not,to be able to answer your question.

My 2012 V6 automatic will blip the the redline every once in a while. Doesn't seam to be a big deal.

Actually to me it's a huge deal.

If you watch this video what this person does it push down on the peddle and leave it there and it shifts like it's supposed to.

When I shove the pedal down all the way it gets to 8k before shifting which means it doesn't pick up the proper speed that is should. If the break in doesn't fix it it's going to the dealer to fix.

Of course I'm going to push the v6 to the max who wouldn't?

The whole point of an automatic is so that I can shove the pedal down and have it accelerate.

Well if you are going to do it, take a video so we can all watch, do it.

Yea I watched the video you posted and didnt see anything wrong either time. But if your hitting 8000 RPMs something is wrong as hell because the rev limiter should be stepping in and stopping that from happening. My 2012 has a 7000' rpm redline and my gauges turn red when it hits red line. In my v6 it's a split second at redline. The rev limiter doesn't step in because it's only a split second.
