Default New possibly soon to be owner in PA.

I am seriously considering picking up a 15 GT Premium MT soon.

I just sold my supercharged S2000(425whp) I've had for 8 years and being picked up this weekend. This leaves me with only a 15 MDX sh and tech I bought last November.

I need to get another fun car soon. I've been going back and forth between 5.0 and a used Grand Sport vette.

Having more room is making me really want the 5.0 but haven't decided either way yet.

Anyways (maybe there is a thread on this already but I didn't see it) I'm wondering what a good amount under msrp is a good buy now?

On other forums I've seen people saying they are getting 5.0's $5k under msrp etc.

I'm waiting the premium MT with nav and possibly the performance package or just 3.55 gears. I've debated the Recaro leather seats as well but not sure.

Is there a thread with people's recent purchase prices? I've seen True car but looking for more good deal buying savvy numbers.

5 grand under is a pretty amazing deal! I bought a premium gt auto with 3.55" gears for 36.2k. Stick was just under 40k

Ok yeah not sure where that was located.

Why do I have to want all the options?! Haha.

Comes up to like 44k optioned out.

Love the Recaro leather seats, nav, 401 interior package etc.

Can't decide on the performance package though. Mostly a street driven car. I think I would wind up replacing sways, shocks, springs etc anyways since I own a performance car shop. Hard to resist haha!

The recaros are nice. Have you sat in the standard seats yet? They are pretty awesome in their own. Most comfortable seat I've ever sat in as far as cars go. Only thing I miss is I wished they offered the performance pack on the auto.

I have sat in the new seats just not the Recaro seats. They were pretty nice just don't hold you as much for more spirited driving. I'm used to my S2000 seats which are very snug!

I think I could live without the Recaro seats though. Adds a big chunk to price tag.

Are dealers voiding warranties now if you use the line lock feature?

Historically,I've usually bought most of cars for something like list price, but that's the number out the door, including sales tax, which is 8.625 in my area.
Based on what I've read here, that might be accomplished on a new GT.
I have a desire for a new GT Premium in magnetic gray.Quite a few dealers in my area have one,or are expecting one.
If time permits,I might hit one or two today to see if my notion holds water. My first choice would probably be an AT,but I wouldn't rule out a MT.

I drove another 5.0 today and was able to really ring it out. I liked it but feel it needs a good bit more power. Even with bolt ons and tune does it make a huge difference?

I know I would need to do away bars and coilovers as well as it felt pretty heavy around the curvy road.

I definitely liked it a lot but felt it lacking in power. I guess it's because it doesn't have the low end torque feel compared to LS3.

My S2000 had very little torque(250wtq) but felt so much faster up top(425whp)

Wish I could drive a modded new 5.0 but impossible to find since so new.

If you think a new Mustang GT is going to be as fast as a highly modded car that weighs a 1000 pounds less your just not being realistic. I came from a 400WHP SRT-4 that would run high 11s and trap in the 120s! However tune/intake mustangs on drag radials are breaking high 11s also but trapping in the 114-116 range. Not bad for 700 Dollars worth of mods and a set of tires. As far as the LS3 comparison. The Mustang will handle that! Maybe your but dyno needs to be recalibrated? NA Cars don't feel the same as boosted cars.
