Have ordered my last 2 cars.
Because I planned on modding both, I didn't get pulled into the " package " hole..
.........( buy stuff you don't want to get stuff you do )
My 11 has ( 1 ) option, a glass roof.....delivered in 48 days.
My 14 has ( 2 ) options, a glass roof & Recaros.....delivered in 112 days.
.

Wait, I thought you could not order individual options. Like I would like a V6 with GT wheels. Can I do that? Not the "I'm still a V6" foundry package wheels. I don't want those.

No, there is no such thing as a special order like that. You can only get certain things on a given model, and sometimes you can only get one option if you buy a package (i.e. it only comes in the package and not standalone). If it is part of the package you can't delete it either (like on my 2013 with the MCA package - I wanted to delete the spoiler but with the MCA and Pony packages it is part of the package and couldn't be deleted)

Again, use "Build & Price"! It will answer your questions about what you can order & how!

You guys make this ordering thing sound pretty difficult. You check the boxes you want as far as options and they ship you a car. As far as giant discounts are concerned. Your not doing better than X-plan or employee pricing unless your in the last year of a cars design run and a new design is about to hit the market. Dealers may move the older design so it's not sitting on the lot for months taking up space in their inventory. The pricing on brand new 2015-16 Mustangs are not going to be discounted.

Have you seen truecar.com? Pretty good pre-negotiated discounts there. Better than X-plan I think.

Not to argue, but I think anyone that "orders" a car can do much better if they put in some effort, & it takes a little effort. I beat True Car & X Plan by a bundle. If you build a car with "Build & Price" & then change the zip to send it to many different dealer areas (or just send them an email with the options listed clearly) you can work towards getting low bids. Just a minute ago I deleted about a dozen dealership email addresses from their returns. I only contacted them by email & never included my correct telephone # of course! Out of about a dozen contacts I got about three internet salesman that actually would "bother to actually work" out a price & compete for the sale. Most just sent me emails trying to get me to come into the dealership or made some meaningless BS statements like "We'll beat any price!". Most would not bother to figure out their actual cost & make an actual bid to get a sale. So they lost a sale with a small markup! It works for me!
