But it will not fit over any Brembos so no Performance Package Mustangs. I have the base 18" all seasons on my GT so no problem. If you try to option up a PP Mustang from the factory they delete the spare tire option when you add a PP And the donut is $400 from the factory anyway so you save a few bucks.

The inflator goo also ruins the TPMS monitor in your flat so just change your own tire, it's better in the long run. Auto clubs do this free provided you actually have a spare, and now you do.

As far as car damage or reduced performance from the space saver, just look here:

You'll be okay for a few miles running a donut. Don't stress it.
Check the link referenced in post #46 above. They claim their spare tire kit will fit over the Brembo calipers. Should be worth asking anyway

I had a bolt go into my Vette's tire a few years ago on a Sunday and no place open to fix it. Luckily, it was a slow leak and I made it home before it was undriveable. I very much would like to put a space saver in my Mustangs trunk to get me home. Any ideas for a spare for a Mustang with 20's? Even from a Fusion???

Default why no spare on Mustang performance pack

Have yet to see a reason for no spare, aftermarket took only a few months to offer a spare wheel and tire that fits the storage well, and fits over performance Brembo brakes, it is a space saver, but better than leaving your car on a road waiting for help, in mountains there are still area's of no cell reception, so order your spare tire/wheel for $400 bucks, it includes jack and tool kit in the spare package,

The reason for no spare is to save weight and add 0.01 mpg to the corporate average. The fact that it also gives Ford the opportunity to put it on the options list and force us to pay extra for what should be, and always has been before, standard equipment is just icing on the cake for them. The fact that they didn't bother to develop one for the performance pack options is nothing short of laziness as far as I'm concerned. My GT doesn't have the PP option so it's not an issue for me but it still bothered me that the optional spare wasn't available for anyone who wanted the PP option. At least, as is often the case, the aftermarket came through for those folks!
